Yoga is an ancient Indian practice based on Hindu philosophy. Yoga's physical (asana) and breath (pranayama) exercises have a healing and a relaxing effect on a person.
 
The physical exercises, breath-work and meditation are traditionally performed as a means for obtaining spiritual enlightenment. During the physical practice of yoga, the practitioner should concentrate on his or her breath, with a clear mind. Not only does the yogi (male) or yogini (female) gain physical flexibility, but also a sharper mind and a lifted spirit.

My classes are designed to strengthen, add flexibility and calm to one's body through a flowing series of poses, or through vinyasa style yoga. There are different types of yoga. Some focus on relaxation, others strength and flexibility, others simply on meditation. Take several classes to decide which kind is for you.
